2017 Elections – FSOMA Board of Directors

Basic Information and Deadlines

FSOMA Board of Directors has (2) Executive Committee and (2) Board of Director positions open for nomination.  The Executive Committee positions which are currently available are Treasurer and Secretary. 
NOMINATIONS

YOU MAY NOMINATE A FSOMA MEMBER OR YOU MAY SELF-NOMINATE.

  1. Nominations must be submitted by August 25, 2017. The “Nomination Form” accompanies this notice and can be downloaded from the FSOMA website.
  1. Each nominee must CONFIRM his/her acceptance of the nomination by submitting the “Nominee Acceptance and Verification” form, by September 8, 2017 along with a brief Biography and some general information about yourself to me, Bob Linde, Board Development Committee Chairperson, also by September 8, 2017. (The “Nominee Acceptance and Verification” form can be downloaded from the FSOMA website)
  1. Each nominee applicant will be reviewed by the Board Development Sub-Committee for appropriate qualifications, as described in the By-Laws and in Board Development Committee policies.

 Candidates who accept nomination will be briefed on their responsibilities as a Board member—which includes, but is not limited to: as a FSOMA Board member they are expected to attend regular board meetings, oversee and/or chair committee(s) as so designated by the President, submit committee reports as so designated by the President, and be responsive to telephone and e-mail communication in a timely manner. (Please refer to the accompanying information: “Board of Directors – Overview for Candidates” regarding the scope of FSOMA Board of Directors’ positions.)

VOTING

Voting for candidates will be done by secret ballot of the voting FSOMA members in good standing.  Voting may be done by e-mail, mail or in person. The ballots will be e-mailed out to members a minimum of 30 days in advance of the Annual General Meeting and Election, which is scheduled for November 11, 2017.  The ballots must be returned and received by the Board Development Sub-Committee no later than Monday, November 6, 2017 OR hand-delivered to me prior to the close of voting at the Annual General Meeting and Election on  November 11, 2017(Note: November 6, 2017 is the date that they must be received by the Board Development Committee, NOT the date of postmarking.)  There will be no proxies authorized.  Ballots will be counted, and the election results given at the Annual General Meeting, November 11, 2017.
