The FSOMA Journal provides current information on legislation, education, events, notices, as well as case studies and clinical articles.
FSOMA employs a full-time lobbying firm, Mixon & Associates on behalf of our profession. This firm is employed to investigate all legislation and rules that may have an impact to the profession. Mixon and Associates (M&A) and FSOMA create coalitions with legislators and other professions to protect and prmote our profession through cooperation, mutual understanding, education and teamwork. Through their hard work & that of the volunteer Board of Directors, FSOMA has become a respected source for legislators needing information about AOM.
FSOMA has representation on the national associations – Acupuncture Society of America (ASA) and Council of State Associations (CSA). These groups provide important information regarding legislation occurring in other States that may impact AOM in Florida. They have been tremendous support on the Dry Needle Challenge and VA issues.
FSOMA raises funds for the “Forward Fund. “This special fund pays for special projects that build coalitions and increases utilization of AOM.”
The “Legal Defense Fund” raises dollars for legal and lobby costs surrounding the defense and advancement of AOM, legislatively.
